Hey everyone. My best friend in the whole world is going through some rough times right now. Polly Jean, my sweet baby injured her back leg a few days ago. Upon taking her to the vet I learned that while she is stable right now, she currently has a grade 4 heart murmur which could be affecting her leg and bring much more serious issues to her health. She has loss some weight and muscle mass as well, furthering the murmur worry. The doctor is unable to identify the underlying cause of the leg injury or murmur until about 2500 dollars of tests are done on Polly. echocardiograms, abdominal ultrasounds and X-rays are all needed to diagnose her further. Unfortunately this could mean she has some life threatening conditions, but we just won’t know until I get scans of her heart at minimum, costing me around 1000 dollars right off the bat.
If you know me, you know Polly means everything to me and I would not be asking for support in this if I didn’t have to, but unfortunately I am a 24y/o artist with no emergency funds for something like this. I have had sweet Polly since she was able to fit in the palm of my hand, and I will do whatever I must to make sure she is okay. I appreciate any help I can get to make sure this lil one is healing properly and doesn’t have any critical conditions.
I will be monitoring her at home over the next 2 weeks until her next appointment. We have been through a lot together and this is the next challenge for us to face.
