My friend Lisa was punched in the face recently by someone she was close to. She has been through not only physical abuse but financial and emotional abuse . She is now at a crossroads and is away from the abuse but does not have the financial support to buy groceries or find a place to live. She had been supported under the control of her abuser for many years. She is not only disabled, she is a battered woman.
