My name is David “Nash” Thomas. I’m a developer, hacker, entrepreneur and I’m sober. Developing an application to help with harm reduction and help prevent needless deaths, is a something I take seriously.
This is me, just after I overdosed, getting high again.
Years of addiction, I saw too many people die for no good reason. I swore, if I ever get to a place where I can, if I ever get off that stuff, I want to try to help. I have lost many friends and I almost lost myself more times than I want to remember.
I am clean now, but I didn’t realize how fucked up I was then. It was bad. People wouldn’t believe me if I tried to explain the life I lived.
One day I decided that I was just done with it. I got on methadone and enrolled in some classes. I moved to the other side of the country, and I’m doing great. With a good amount of support and a loving family. I’m better than ever.
It’s been a couple years now and I really want to help. People are going to do what they want, and I’m not trying to preach the clean life to everyone else.
I just want to develop this app to sit with someone while they do their thing… A fail safe for when they’re alone.
I have the idea, I know how to put it together, I just need a little capital to get it going.
Opiate addiction in this contry has touched all of us in one way or another

In more civilized places people don’t have to sneak off to back alleys or dirty bathrooms to get high. They don’t have to worry about being alone. They don’t have to worry about an accidental overdose, because there are trained people who will help them and make sure they are safe.
Unfortunately, there is no place in the United States where this is an option.
Whether you agree with it or not, people are going to do what they want.
I am developing an application to monitor and alert the proper response to ensure that people are safe. There will be a section for advice, information on harm reduction and resources.
Harm reduction and education is the only way to get through this. The war on drugs has only served to destroy lives.
