Hi! My name is Aiysha and I am raising money as apart of Miss America. My community service initiative this year is to end Drug Abuse and overdose deaths. I lost my older brother to an overdose on fentanyl this summer. There is a current opioid epidemic in the United States and I am using my platform that I’ve been given as part of the Miss America program to help spread awareness and prevent drugs from destroying lives.
One of the four points on the iconic Miss America crown is Service, and I want to make it my mission to serve our community through this initiative. This organization is not only a great platform for women like me to share their stories, passions and desire for change, but it inspires others to make those changes a reality.
