It’s so strange to find myself here asking for help. I have spent almost 30 years helping others through my work in social services, wanting to make things better for other people. And, in my free time doing the same pro Bono.
But here I am, diagnosed with a major medical condition that is treatable but costly. I will be having a major surgery and potentially follow up treatments while out on 60% disability pay.

Ok so again- gratitude for all of your support, assistance, and kind words.
The news is good! After seeing my oncologist and learning that my genetic testing was actually not good- I have the b r c a gene wtf ! - but in the next moment learning that I do not have to undergo chemotherapy or radiation- coy and I are so relieved and thankful! I’m going to meet with a genetic counselor so my nieces will have the information they need.
And then 5 years of oral hormonal blockers and quarterly infusions.
I am back at work which is exhausting - plus strangely people seem to not appreciate or understand how sick I was and am still coming back. But not my circus/ monkey as they say.
Thankful for friends and my amazing and fearless husband who just accepts it all.

Surgery went well and my drains came out last week.
Trying to get up every day but still exhausted.
I saw my dr today- healing well…
But my last genetic test came back as high risk for reoccurrence- I was shocked- have been referred to an oncologist and my surgeon thinks probably a round of chemo…
I know times have changed but I am not certain I’m going to do this.
Thanks to all for support and just saying hello- I’ll keep you posted 💕
