Lions' Kitchen is the student food pantry at Wallace State Community College. Situated in rural Alabama, Wallace State serves a population determined to succeed; a population with very few resources; a population seeking to break the chains of generational poverty.
In Lions' Kitchen they meet the welcoming, friendly face of Elizabeth who knows the effects of hunger and who is committed to providing the fuel our students need to learn. Lions' Kitchen is part of a bigger service called Wallace State Cares, a program designed to assist students in overcoming challenges that might threaten their success in class. Life keeps happening even in college. Our pantry and other resources are in place to fill in gaps while our students work to change their lives.
