Our ten year-old Doberman, Ryker, was being kenneled with a vet which did not have 24 hour care. I got three increasing worrisome calls about diarrhea, vomiting then hardness of the abdomen. The stomach turning within the abdomen is common with this breed. I had to race back to do an emergency transport to a locally referred 24-hour hospital, Blue Pearl in Augusta, GA. Surgery occurred that night including removing his spleen, fixing his stomach and tacking it. He started to recover - this was Wednesday, 20 August 2025. He started to recover, then had a lapse, then had to go under high vigilance in the ICU which he never left. We had daily multiple contacts with an amazing vet until it was clear, he needed to be let to go in peace. He was ten which is pretty good for a Dobie. The total bill for all treatment including cremation and the urn in the final invoice is $15,938.02. I am retired military and police. On a pension. I am using the GI Bill in school full-time. If you could help in any way, I would be amazingly grateful. I had problems uploading a picture, but reach out and I can provide a picture and a copy of the invoice from Blue Pearl. This is only to cover vet expenses. Anything, if we are blessed to reach this, will be donated to our local shelter to help others. Most thankfully and respectfully, Dominique Corbett
