Hi…. My name is Ellie.. I’m a 14 day old alpaca. I was abandoned when I was born by my mom.. maybe because I took an extra month to grow big inside her and she got mastitis waiting for me, or maybe cuz she just didn’t wanna be a mom… anyway, lots of people, especially my owner Stacey, helped me start getting big by feeding me a bottle every three hours. I know this is a lot of work, but I promise I’m worth it. 
But as much as everyone was trying, I didn’t get all the antibodies I needed from my mom to fight infection, and last Sat I started to get sick. Everyone tried to help me, but I just am too small and young to fight much. 
On last Monday, I was really really REALLY close to not making it. Stacey got home from work and took me in her car to Comstock Equine Hospital.. (I know…. I’m an alpaca) and all the staff and doctors have been doing everything they can to help me stay alive. 
And even though I’m not totally thru the woods, I’m trying really hard to get better.
We need your help…. The hospital bill is growing and growing.. I promise, if you can help me keep getting care to get better, I will be able to pay it forward as I’m gonna be one of the Certified Therapy Alpacas for the new NonProfit “The Positive Life Foundation” helping bring alpacas to kids and adults suffering with mental health issues.
