Help Gioia Get a Seizure Alert Therapy Dog
Imagine not knowing if the next shower, nap, or moment alone could turn into a medical emergency.
This is the reality for my niece, Gioia, a 23-year-old young woman who lives with frequent and unpredictable seizures. Everyday activities many of us take for granted can be dangerous for her without warning.
A specially trained seizure alert therapy dog could change that. These dogs are able to sense subtle changes in the body before a seizure occurs, giving Gioia critical time to get to a safe place or call for help. In situations like showering, the dog can alert her and help guide her out, reducing the risk of serious injury.
Beyond physical safety, a therapy dog would give Gioia something she desperately deserves: independence, confidence, and peace of mind. These dogs require extensive, specialized training, which makes them life-saving, but also very expensive. Funds raised will go toward training, placement, and continued support to ensure the dog is the right fit for her medical needs.
Every donation, share, and act of kindness brings us closer to giving Gioia the safety and freedom she deserves.
Thank you for supporting her and helping protect her future 💛
