On Mother's Day 2021 Katie sustained a pretty bad back injury leaving her with a scored nerve in her spinal column resulting in a condition called Foot Drop. This condition affects one's ability to walk correctly and output the use of an orthotic or other assistive devices.
If you know Katie, you know she is very hesitant to use any such device.
Although she is making progress and has gained a feeling back in her right leg... The likelihood of healing on her own from this drops each week with the likelihood now being only 6% which is why surgery is the next option. This is the second surgery of 4 or 5 to decrease the odds of further damage (removing more fragments of her spine).
You know she is just too stubborn to ask for help, so a few people mentioned setting up a donation link.... and here we are. I really hope she gets the funding necessary to go through with this and I know we appreciate all the help and we KNOW she appreciates all of you too!
