Help a Veteran’s Hero: Keeping a Roof Over Eugene’s Head
They say that "home is where the heart is," but for Eugene, home is his mission.
For years, Eugene has dedicated his life to the non-profit space, working tirelessly to ensure that those who served our country never have to sleep on the streets. He has spent his career finding homes for veterans, driven by a deep love for God, his neighbors, and this country. He is the first person to offer a hand up and the last to ask for one in return.
A Devastating Fall
To make ends meet while continuing his service work, Eugene has been working as a DoorDash driver. He approached this job with the same integrity he brings to everything else, quickly earning Platinum Status for his reliability and hard work.
However, a couple weeks ago, the unthinkable happened. While delivering a meal, Eugene fell on a set of porch stairs. The impact was severe, resulting in a broken hip.
The Road to Recovery
While we are grateful that his surgery was successful, the road ahead is long. Doctors have grounded him for at least 90 days of intensive recovery before he can even think about getting back behind the wheel or returning to his non-profit work.
Here is the heartbreaking reality: Without the ability to work, the man who spends his days housing veterans is now at risk of losing his own home.
How You Can Help
We are looking to raise enough to cover his rent and basic living expenses for the next three months so he can focus entirely on healing. His rent is $1,750 per month, and our goal is to ensure he doesn't face an eviction notice while he’s learning to walk again.
• Monthly Rent: $1,750
• Total Goal: $5,250 (to cover the 90-day recovery period)
Eugene has spent his life promoting kindness and standing up for those who have been forgotten. Now, he needs his community to stand up for him.
Please consider donating—no amount is too small. If you cannot give, please share this story and keep him in your prayers.
Let’s bring some of that light and kindness back to a man who gives so much of it to the world.
