My sweet boy Monkey isn’t doing so well. He’s currently in the Pup Hospital, and I’m losing my mind with stress and Worry.
Just a quick FYI, DO NOT trust Cumberland Valley Vet Clinic!!!
Wednesday he had some blood in his poo so naturally I made a appt at his vet to get him checked out (Cumberland valley) they did a blood test and told me that his BUN and CREA was high so he needed a ultrasound to see what was going on. No other tests were offered or done.
I made the appt for the ultrasound the soonest they could do was this coming Monday, put him on a anti diarrhea pill and sent us home.
Thursday morning comes.... his condition worsens. I called them back and told them, they basically said that there was no way to fit him in Any sooner and if I was “that worried” to call a animal hospital.
Thursday evening... I had called atleast 25 vets trying to find someone with a ultrasound machine bc that’s all Cumberland valley said was needed to see what was wrong with Boo. I finally found Winchester Animal Hospital, so on my way I went. When we got there and they got him checked in, the first thing they did was check his blood again AND a pee sample.
Turns out he has a UTI that has led to a kidney infection (were still not sure how seveare this is yet), we talked about and started treatment and we went home.
Friday (yesterday) rolls around... now Monkey is having trouble walking, and all he wanted to do was lay around. My energetic, playful, loveable pup couldn’t even be touched by yesterday evening without yelling out in pain. So naturally I freaked out and called Winchester and told the vet who has treated him the night before that something isn’t right, I KNEW something was def wrong. He says to bring him back in which I did, and they admitted him into the hospital for further tests and IV treatments. I ask them to run a Lyme test bc I had heard some horror stories earlier that day. He says he doesn’t have any signs of Lyme but he’ll test anyhow bc he didn’t have signs of a UTI either but it was still positive
Last night on my way home they call me with the results and he’s positive for Lyme. They also did the ultrasound and had that sent off to be looked at. So now not only is my sweet boy battling a UTI, a kidney infection but now also Lyme.
6:30 this morning the overnight vet called and said that Boo now doesn’t want to eat, and is on pain meds so he is out of it.. BUT the ultrasound came back....... his kidneys are mildly enlarged which could indicate renal failure, but they want to see if it’s not just from one of the other 3 things my sweet boy is battling at the moment.
Cumberland Valley sent him home Wednesday... without testing for any of these things (simple tests mind you), he wasn’t going to be seen again till Monday. Untreated for everything. It’s highly unlikely anything could of been done by the time they got their heads out of their ass! I’m extremely angry that simple tests were not performed and thousands of dollars later I found a vet that took my concerns seriously!
*UPDATE* Monkey will be coming home! He's going to need lots of love and care and some very expensive medication! Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
BUT if you can't afford to donate I completely understand.. Just PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PRAY FOR MY SWEET BOY. I’m terrified I’m going to lose him. 💔
