Please HELP me bring relief and development to the most extraordinary yet maginalized indigenous communities of the African Equatorial RainForest.
My name is Lucrece, I am originally from Gabon (Central Africa), currently living in the United-States. I am raising money to buy solar lights for Pygmy villages located at the heart of the Congo Basin Rainforest of Gabon.
These indigenous communities are isolated and denied of the most fundamental human rights to economic, environmental and social justice. Solar energy solutions can significantly improve their standards and quality of life allowing the comminuty to strive.
As of now they are still relying on firewood as main source of light. They often lack basic matches to light up a fire. In which case, children are sent far away to the nearest village and carry back a burning charcoal to bring fire back to the entire community. A challenging endeavor, especially during the rainy season.
This is one of many harsh realities I have witnessed growing up in Gabon. Pygmies are faced with the serious threat of extension. Bringing light is a small yet important step to help preserve the last remaining communities of hunter-gatherers in Africa and the World.
Thank you for your BIG Heart and Awareness!
