Brittney injured her back in early May. An MRI revealed a herniated disc in her lower back.  She then received several steroid and epidural injections throughout the month of May to correct the herniated disc. At some point she developed  an infection in her blood stream that caused her to go into septic shock at work on 6/2. She was taken to the ER and diagnosed with sepsis. The infection had spread to her heart, lungs, spine and L5 vertebrae. She was admitted to the hospital to fight the infection on heavy IV antibiotics. After 8 days she was released to home health but returned to the ER 2 days later with chest pains. At that time she was diagnosed with a septic pulmonary embolism and was readmitted on IV medication to dissolve the blood clot in her right lung. She is now back home recovering with home health. She will be on 24/7 IV antibiotics and blood thinners through mid July. Brittney will have continued out of pocket medical expenses for co-insurance costs, follow-up visit copays and prescription medications as well as personal living expenses. She hopes to return to work upon release from home health by the end of July. I’d like to help lighten the load of some of these medical costs and loss of wages so that she can heal and recover without the financial burden of these unexpected expenses. If you are unable to help financially, we ask that you continue to pray for her and her family and for complete healing for her during this time.
