On Monday February 6th, Chris woke up to get ready for work like usual, but wasn't feeling well, so he went back to bed for an hour. He then got up to get ready as usual. When he got into his work vehicle to pull out of the driveway, he was having a hard time seeing to drive. He pulled over to let his wife April drive them to work. Once in the driver seat, she asked him to make eye contact with her, but he couldn't do so. They arrived at the job site, he helped moved an 8 person hot tub out of a home, helped sweep and clean up as well. We then took a quick break outside since it was a pretty day. Within 10 minutes, he decided he needed to go sit down for a minute because he wasn't feeling too well. He felt sick to his stomach. Within a few minutes, we observed him twitching his right arm and his right leg. Every couple of minutes he would squeeze his arm as if he couldn't feel it. He says he's okay, it's just going to sleep due to the way he was sitting down. They head home a few minutes later. Once they arrive back home, Chris has to slide out of the vehicle in order to get out. He tries to walk inside, but he's unable to. Up until this point, he refused medical help. April had to walk him to their personal vehicle so she could get him to the ER herself. Once they arrive at the ER, they rushed him into the trauma unit. His blood pressure was 285/142. They ran multiple tests on him that day. He has had several mini strokes, but Monday he had a big one. He was also tested for diabetes due to his high blood sugar. That came back positive for type 2 diabetes. He's had a MRI, EEG and EKG. The MRI came back with devastating news about his brain. He has a blockage in the front of his brain where his big stroke was. Although his brain has made a way to bypass the blockage they are worried that the blockage may cause his eye issues to be permanent. He's unable to move his eyes because his muscles aren't working the way they are supposed to. His vision is unfocused and he's very sensitive to light. He's working with a physical therapist to regain his strength to walk, pull himself up in bed, and to do everyday activities such as eating by himself and using the bathroom by himself. He has an appointment with an optometrist to figure out the next steps with his eyes. With all of this being said, both Chris and April are out of work due to his health at this very moment. We're raising money for them to pay their mortgage, car note and food for them and their 11 year old son. If you can't donate, we understand. You can at least share this link so we can get it seen by others. Thank you for reading. God bless.
