Hi everyone,
I am reaching out to my community today because I find myself in a deeply challenging situation regarding my DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) renewal. Due to severe and ongoing processing delays at USCIS, my work authorization has expired, and I am legally no longer able to work. I never thought something like this would happen to me.
As a DACA recipient, my ability to support myself, pay rent, and cover daily living expenses depends entirely on my employment authorization. Since my renewal date of April 6th, I have done everything in my power to resolve this situation and move my application forward. I have filed an official expedite request, initiated a congressional inquiry through my local representative's office, called USCIS multiple times for updates, and even had a pre-suit demand letter sent to the agency. I am now taking legal action against USCIS.
Unfortunately, despite taking every possible legal and administrative step, I have received no meaningful updates or breakthroughs.
Being forced out of work has caused immense financial strain. I am launching this fundraiser to help cover my basic living expenses—including rent, utilities, and groceries—while I wait for USCIS to process my renewal and restore my right to work.
Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a massive difference in helping me stay afloat during this period of forced unemployment. If you are unable to donate, sharing this link with your network would mean the world to me.
Thank you so much for your kindness, solidarity, and support.
