In 2024, I set out on a daring journey on the Mississippi River, a tale of determination amidst formidable challenges. Though my first attempt was halted by floods and adverse conditions, my passion for paddling endures, driving me to try again in 2026.
This time, I am steering towards the prestigious Alabama 650, a grueling 600-mile race across the Alabama River and into Mobile Bay for the final 50 miles. I have 10 days to complete this test of endurance, and I am reaching out for support to make it possible. Undertaking this race requires a dedicated crew by my side—unsung heroes who track my location, provide essentials like fresh water, and bolster my spirit with each stroke. My crew typically includes my mother but I need her to get my son to school while I am away. I aim to ensure their well-being with shelter and sustenance. A Cruise America RV rental for 11 days will safeguard our journey, estimated at $2,600, not to mention the costs of gas and generator use, bringing our total to around $6,500 for food & shelter Moreover, I wish to honor my crew's invaluable commitment with a modest stipend for their time and effort. By offering $200 per day for 2–4 dedicated individuals, my goal is to express heartfelt gratitude as they engage with one of America’s most bio-diverse rivers. This brings the estimated total support required to $14,500.
