Ever wonder if when you offer to donate money to a charity does it really helps the people you meant it for?
My name is Eric Wiley, I live in Wasilla, Alaska, and have recently been diagnosed with CMML 1 leukemia. Unfortunately, for me CMML is a rare cancer with the only known possible cure is a bone marrow transplant. It’s amazing how fast bills can stack up and then find out just how little your insurance actually covers. I’m trying to raise money to help cover some of the costs of the travel since this procedure cannot be done in Alaska, as well as help cover some of the medical deductibles and hospital bills associated with this illness.
It’s a very scary journey when one day you have a small accident and the next your doctor is telling you, you may have less than a year to live if you don’t get this procedure done soon.So now I am asking both people I know and people I don’t know that if it’s within your means to please help me cover some of these costs. I promise this is not a scam, it is not a joke. It’s my new reality.I have not been able to work since Aug and the well is dry, I hate to ask for help but without this procedure I will not live long. The stress this is put on my wife and myself is something I wish no one would ever go through. Thank you for any support you may be able to offer and please share this with everyone you know.

Update 5/21.
Chemotherapy done for 28 days then go for round 3.
Back in transfusion center today for platelets and whole blood. Platelet count back down to 3.(critically low). White blood cells down to 1.6( critically low). This is expected due to the effects of chemotherapy, but is in extremely dangerous territory. I get exhausted just walking around. Have random bruises pop up due to low counts and pray I don’t get a cut.
Still positive and in good spirits, please keep up on the prayers and support as you can. Please keep posting and reposting updates.
Thank you all for your support while we fight this.
