Martinsburg South Middle School is excited to announce that two of their VexIQ Robotics teams have qualified to compete in the 2023 VexIQ World Championships in Dallas, Texas, April 30th through May 2nd! These twelve bright and hardworking students have advanced through both the local and West Virginia state competitions in order to represent both their school and community on the international stage using their technology, coding, engineering and collaborative skills.
Robotics is a newly emerging activity for West Virginia public schools, and is accelerating the quality of STEM education and career opportunities within the state. Unlike sports such as basketball and football, Robotics does not generate revenue through its competitions. In order for these students to compete, they rely on the generous support of not only parents, but donors like you. Berkeley County Schools has been able to finance the cost of registration for both teams at the competition ($1,200 per team) but the total for travel, accommodations, and meals will be significant. The Martinsburg South Middle School Robotics Booster Club hopes that you will consider making a donation to facilitate this hard-earned opportunity.
Note: This fundraiser is a continuation of the 2022 fundraiser, which raised $12,175 for the 2022 World Championships. From this, both 2022 teams were able to attend. Thank you to those donors for making that trip possible! We are now continuing to raise funds to support the 2023 teams in their goal of traveling to World's.
Thank you for your support of our teams and contributing to the success of Robotics in Berkeley County Schools!
