Elephant Nature Park, in Chaing Mai Thailand is home to over 5,000 animals. Since 1990 ENP has opened it's doors to abandoned animals that no one wanted. To this day,dogs are dropped of at their gates, on a daily basis. There are cats, water buffalo, rabbits, monkeys, birds, pigs and elephants who were abused, working in the tourist and logging industries. Most of these animals have lived very sad and lonely lives, until the day they arrived here, at Elephant Nature Park. For the first time in most of their lives, they are shown what love is and how it feels to be loved. They all deserve love. It is their birthright, just as it is ours.
Since ENP's inception, they have made do with what they have, they have found a way to make things work, for example,throughout the park there are several makeshift, animal food preparation areas, stations, if you will ... all created by this wonderful bunch of people, the staff at ENP, who care for all the animals, who now call this park, home.
They do not have a proper kitchen preparation area, something that they really need, having a new kitchen, will make this task of feeding all of the animals at ENP several times a day, much more efficent .
That is until now !
We would like to build a brand new kitchen, for the staff who feed the animals every day. The new kitchen will be approximately 20'x30', it will have proper kichen counters to cut and prepare foods, two sinks, a commercial refrigerator, a storage area for dry foods, wall cabinets, below counter storage and a ramp for the convenience of wheeling heavy bags of food in and out of the entrance.
Presently,due to the current lack of space to prepare food, some of the staff members help store and prepare food for the animals at their own homes and deliver it to the park, every day.
Lek Chailert, the founder of ENP has a philosophy, which is, that love wins.
Let's build this kitchen for all of the people who do this generous work, showing their own individual love, every day, by feeding all these animals and never asking for anything, in return. Let's show our appreciation, our gratitude and our LOVE, to them !
