The girls and I would love to share how God has been working in our lives. We have a heart for missions and God has provided us with the opportunity to go on a short-term mission trip June 7-15 to Molokai, Hawaii with our church, Harvest Community Church to come alongside the community in Molokai. We will be hosting a Vacation Bible School program as well as participating in “Aloha in Action” projects for the community. Harper was saved during and through VBS in the summer of 2022 and so this mission is really important and special to her! I hope that we can learn more about God’s love and share it with those that we will meet. I am excited to see what the Lord teaches us through this experience!
Molokai is the fifth largest of the Hawaiian Islands and has approximately 6,000 people. This is a place where tourists rarely choose to go. There are no traffic lights, no tall buildings, and no shopping malls. And though this may seem to be a wonderful getaway for anyone seeking the quieter side of Hawaii, the consequences of maintaining peace, quiet and more Hawaiian identity are heavy and come in the form of decades of economic challenges, the highest unemployment, poverty, and public assistance rates of all the islands and has the lowest median incomes. As troubling as those numbers are, even more troubling is the high rate of substance abuse and the domestic violence that follows.
Since we believe it is the Lord Who has called us to go and serve on Molokai, we would love your support as we embark on this endeavor. First and foremost, we ask for your prayers! The power behind this trip that will allow us to make an eternal impact is prayer. Specifically, that you would join us in praying for these children, families, and people we will be serving. Suicide among adult males is high on the island. Please pray that the men of the island begin to find their hope in Jesus. Unemployment on the island was reportedly as 7.5% this past September. Government aid is over 50% on the island. Please pray for jobs and willing hearts.

Another way that you can help is by giving financially. This trip is individually funded; therefore, we are raising support to go. We are incredibly grateful for any ways you can help us on our mission to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the people of Molokai.
