My life has been a whirlwind of chaos and fear since I lost my home due to domestic violence. It wasn't just the walls that came crashing down, but my sense of safety and security vanished too. My RV, which became my sanctuary, was taken from me in the midst of this violence. I was shot, and tragically, one of my tenants was killed by my abuser, leaving me to grapple with profound grief and trauma. I found myself on the streets when my car, my last refuge, broke down. While stepping away for just a few hours, to go work in the hot sun for 40$ it was stolen, taking with it the little I had left. I’m battling severe PTSD, and the constant state of survival has worn me down to the core. Every day feels like an uphill climb, and though I'm doing my best to stay strong, it’s becoming harder to endure this on my own.
