My name is Ashley McDonald, I am 40 years old with 3 children. Saige 17, Maddie 15, and Johnathon 5. One year ago I was diagnosed with stage 3c cervical cancer. It had spread to my uterus, lymph nodes, and surrounding tissues by the time it was found.
I have completed 6 weeks of chemo and radiation followed by brachey therapy. Brachey therapy is internal radiation that consisted of 2 surgeries a day, every other day for 2 weeks.
With only a 50% chance of beating this type of cancer I beat it! However, it has left my body in shambles. Since treatment ended I have had 4 surgeries. From nerve blocks to colostomy surgery. I now have a permanent colostomy bag.
The financial burden has caught up with me as I continue with this battle. Shut off notices are coming in quickly. I am a hard worker when I am able. It is not like me to ask for help. Especially financial help. The past few months I am able to work a couple days then a couple weeks in the hospital. That does not allow me to maintain my household for my children.
I am humbly asking for your help. Many times I feel as if I have to choose between work and fighting for my life. Any donations will go toward household expenses such as rent, van payment, phone bill, etc. As well as any medical costs and transportation to medical appointments.
Thank you so much for reading, sharing, and/or donating. I sincerely appreciate all the support I have received.
