Our dear friend Erin Zurcher was 34 weeks pregnant when she suddenly began experiencing intense contractions. After rushing to the hospital, doctors discovered her heart rate was unsteady and had to perform an emergency C-section to bring her baby girl into the world.
Baby Raya is here, but she is facing many challenges. Her breathing has been unstable, she is experiencing significant swelling and jaundice, and she struggles to keep anything down. Because of these complications, doctors want to keep her in the hospital NICU until she reaches full term — about 5 more weeks.
This has placed a heavy emotional and financial burden on the family. The hospital is over 5 hours away round-trip, meaning countless long drives back and forth to be with their little girl. On top of this, they are in the process of moving into a new home, while still trying to keep up with everyday bills and expenses.
We want to come together to support them during this incredibly difficult time. Any donation, no matter the size, will help ease the stress of travel costs, medical expenses, and household bills so that they can focus all their love and energy on baby Raya and her healing.
