Across the United States, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations have left many communities living in fear. Families have been separated, individuals detained, and people deported—often with limited transparency and little public accountability. The human consequences of these actions are rarely documented, and many stories remain untold.
I am a freelance photojournalist undertaking this project on speculation, without institutional backing, to independently document ICE activity and its impact on affected communities. This fundraising campaign supports a nationwide documentation effort focused on firsthand reporting and visual storytelling that centers the experiences of those most directly affected.
The project will highlight stories of resilience, resistance, and the broader implications of current immigration enforcement practices through in-depth interviews, photography, and field reporting.
How the funds will be used:
-
Travel across multiple states to report from communities impacted by ICE operations
-
Professional photography, audio, and recording equipment for field documentation
-
Legal counsel and digital security resources to protect the privacy and safety of participants
-
Website development and media dissemination to share findings with the public, journalists, and advocacy organizations
Why this work matters:
Transparency is essential to accountability. By documenting ICE operations and their human impact, this project aims to bring community experiences into the public record, inform policy conversations, and support efforts to prevent harm carried out without scrutiny.
Every contribution, regardless of size, directly supports independent, speculative reporting in the public interest. Please consider donating, sharing this campaign, and standing with immigrant communities seeking dignity, safety, and visibility.
