Emilio is many things to many people. He is a friend, coworker, classmate, athlete, family. He is kind, funny, charming and has a heart of gold. He is hard working and very goal oriented. Who ever he may be to you, we are kindly asking for your help to support him right now.
This past weekend Emilio was a victim of a random and unprovoked crime in his home. He sustained multiple stab wounds while protecting his girlfriend, friend and roommate. Fortunately, him and his roommate were able to fight off the offender. Emilio had to be hospitalized and have two surgeries from his injuries. At this time, doctors anticipate at least 12 weeks of necessary physical and occupational therapy towards recovering but it’s too early to know what to expect. He has been working for several months as an engineer after graduating this spring from MSOE, but we are still unsure of what sort of FMLA or short term disability options he has or qualifies for. Emilio is left handed and sustained a complicated injury to his left arm that is affecting his hand and fingers.
Times are tough right now for everybody, so we appreciate any donation amount or even contribute by sharing this post. Truly anything helps. We are looking for assistance to cover cost of medical bills, deductibles, moving costs, rent, regular bills and other expenses that may come from being unable to work during the road to recovery. His parents have been missing work to be in the hospital with him as well.
