Roxy is a 13 year old indoor cat. She's sweet, she's silly. She's my little girl.

Roxy has been suffering the effects of feline hyperthyroidism for a few years now, including weight loss despite an increased appetite, increased thirst, anxiety, vomiting, and loss of muscle mass. Her hyperthyroidism is caused by adenomas, or benign tumors that have developed on her thyroid gland, producing excessive thyroid hormones.

Her vet and I have tried giving her various doses of different medications over time, and nothing has been effective in combating her condition for long. If her hyperthyroidism continues its course, Roxy may begin to suffer from complications such as heart disease and kidney failure. She's still incredibly active, happy, and has many years left to live. I will do anything to stop her condition from taking those things from her.

I've finally found a solution that will not just help Roxy, but will CURE her hyperthyroidism. Radioiodine therapy will eliminate Roxy's thyroid tumors, without invasive surgery. She will no longer need medication with every meal to treat her hormone levels or stressful blood tests to make sure her kidneys aren't being damaged. If she receives this radioiodine treatment, she will finally be able to regain muscle mass, and live a happy, healthy life; and I will be able to sleep at night without worrying that she's suffering.

I need help affording Roxy's cure. After contacting both the radioiodine therapy facility and her vet, the total estimate for her treatment is $4,250. This total includes:

  • Radioactive Iodine I-131 Injection
  • Exam/Consultation
  • Blood Test & Urinalysis
  • Chest X-ray
  • Blood Pressure Testing
  • Echocardiogram
  • Flea Prevention (a dose is required immediately prior to beginning treatment, as she will be staying in a care facility for a minimum of 2 days)

After several years of monthly vet appointments and expensive prescriptions and testing, I've spent thousands of dollars on Roxy's treatment. She's worth everything I have. I've been pursuing a degree for three years so far, and have finally begun an entry-level job in a stable career, but my funds have run out. I'm willing to give up everything to help my girl live the best life possible. Please help me fund the cure for Roxy so she and I can get back on our feet, and enjoy the time we have left together happily and worry-free.

Thank you so much for your time,

Bri & Roxy

11/5/2025 Update: Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who's donated 💖 Roxy's appointment for radioiodine therapy has been scheduled for January 12, 2026. Unfortunately, that's the earliest treatment appointment available, but hopefully the long wait means other kitties are being given this life-changing treatment in the meantime.

Your donations have helped us comfortably pay for the $400 scheduling fee. In 2-3 days, I will receive a workup of Roxy's preliminary test plan, and we'll begin preparations for her future treatment. We couldn't have afforded to start this process without your help. Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart!!!

Love and joy to you and yours,

🤍 Bri
