My name is Cat and I just recently escaped a 9 year domestic violence marriage. I was being medically abused, was bed ridden for almost 3 full years, and now have very severe permanent health damages from my abuse. The most important part is that I made it out alive and am now in a safe place with my youngest daughter.
We have been working on getting our lives back and moving forward, but I'm struggling to keep up as I can no longer work full time. I had an opportunity to purchase a repossessed tiny home, so I sold one of the last assets I had in turn for us to have a home again. It's not completely built out, so I'm working on finishing insulating before adding more sheetrock. I'm just limited on finances and resources and would like to have our home done for the holidays.
My family has been eaten up with covering legal fees and saving what assets I still had due to the financial abuse I suffered. I am still in and out of court against my abuser which is taking a lot of my time and money with travel expenses from one state to another.
All I'm asking is if you have $2 to help contribute it would go a very long way for us. Sharing our story is also very appreciative. I'm not the type that needs brand new anything, so I've been searching for second hand supplies and furniture for months now. A ramp has been built for us to get in and out of the house easier, and there's already electricity. Once we get the two rooms and bathroom built out we can start moving in and work on other smaller projects as the time goes.
