The Women in Energy & Allies Running Team is seeking your support for the Puranik Foundation's Energy Project.
The Women in Energy & Allies is a 50-person team across the energy industry running this year's 2023 TCS New York Marathon on November 5, 2023. Help us reach our goal of $50,000 to support energy literacy and the next-generation workforce. The team is sponsored by TCS, Worley, and ALLY Energy.
The Energy Project is working with high school students to innovate energy technologies to be implemented locally through youth activism. Students will form teams to learn design thinking methodology and work together to design innovations for five arenas of innovation; Water Sustainability, Food Systems, Power Generation, Waste Management, and Urban Design. They award grants to bring the product to market.
The cohort collaborates with the Energy Institute High School in Houston, Texas, and Camden Hills Regional High School in Camden, Maine. Students meet after school to learn Design Thinking from a professor at Stanford University and to periodically meet with Rice University MBA mentors & WOM engineers. Leading up to build week, students spend 40 hours prototyping their ideas at the Houston Texas East End maker hub and concluding their journey, putting it together in a business plan with Junior Achievement for the final pitch competition to be judged. They are awarded a $15,000 grant to start their own companies.
Matching funds might be available from your employer. We appreciate your consideration.
We thank you for your support!
