I have been diabetic for over 15 years, with a long history of diabetes in my family. I recently lost my mother to the damaging effects of uncontrolled diabetes, and my father is currently struggling.
With my fight to keep my diabetes in line, I have had so many adverse effects from most of the diabetes meds out there. I was able to handle Victoza, but it never really kept my A2c number below 7.3. My insurance had made me try Mounjaro. I had amazing results without any adverse side effects. My A1c got to 5.2.
With all the recent changes with insurance, I lost mine. I fall in that grey area where I make too much for any assistance and there is no way I can afford $1000 monthly premiums. I have been unable to afford my diabetes medication.
With a coupon from Singlecare, one month is $845.47. I am asking for assistance to help me get one months worth of my medication.
I also have advanced osteoarthritis, and Mounjaro does help with the inflammation. I have definitely been able to realize how much it helped, not having it.
I have never asked for help before and this is not easy. After watching the struggles my mother had and the current struggles both my sister and father are having, I'm concerned. I do eat right and stay active, but that alone is not enough to keep my numbrs in line.
