Hi friends and family!
We wanted to give you all an update on how Canela is doing now a couple months post surgery…
The surgery went well, albeit a few serious hiccups during her post operative care (we won’t get into it…) but long story short, her levels were fluctuating for a while after the surgery and it was an odyssey to figure out what her right dosage of medication needed to be. We had a kidney damage scare in the process, but the important thing is that now she is stable, she’s happy, eating, being spoiled, going on hikes, digging trenches on the beach, all the things a doggo should do.
This whole process has been emotionally exhausting, and we really couldnt have gone through it without the support of our friends, friends of friends, family, and extended loved ones! We’ve connected with so many of you that have gone through similar moments, witnessing human empathy, and the shared joy of being so lucky to have the love of our four legged friends.
We’re still not fully in the clear, and it’s looking like it will be a long process for her body to fully heal, nonetheless, know that your support made a huge difference. We’re closing up the SpotFund with $2,820 (!!!) that will directly go to cover the many blood panel tests for her post-operative care and toward the surgery fund.
Thank you so, so, so much. We (don’t) hope that anyone has to go through this, but if you ever do, we’re here and will be there to pay it forward!
With love,
Canela, Steven, and Marina.
