On Christmas Eve, our family lost my mom. As many of you know, she lived with us, and her passing has left not only an emotional hole, but unfortunately a financial one as well.
What some may not know is that my mom contributed $550 each month toward our household expenses — things like utilities, city services, and groceries. That support is now gone, and its absence has made it extremely difficult to cover essential bills.
I also want to be transparent that I am currently unemployed and actively seeking work. Unfortunately, any new employment will not provide income in time to cover January’s bills, which has made this moment especially urgent.
Earlier last year, in May, I did have to ask for help during another difficult period while I was recovering from reconstructive ankle surgery. Many of you know how much I dread asking for help, especially in this way. I never imagined I would need to ask again — least of all this soon — but losing my mom so suddenly has changed our situation in ways we couldn’t have prepared for.
Any support will go directly toward funeral services, which have already cost upwards of $3,500, as well as basic living expenses including our mortgage, utilities, groceries, and gas, as we grieve and work toward stability. If you’re unable or choose not to donate, I completely understand. Even sharing this can help more than you know.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and understanding during one of the hardest moments of our lives.
