Hey Y'all,
Thus begins the next album, "Honky Tonk Avant-Garde".
Me and the crew are tickin' along good and have a new single we're wantin' to make a music video for, "80,000 Lbs o' Pain".
In the height of Covid, I took a trip back to East Texas, from which I hail, taking I-35 to I-20. The only other vehicles on the highway were semi-trucks. I became profoundly aware that these guys and gals were one of the main things keepin' the country afloat, bringin' us all our groceries and essentials (god bless toilet paper). I began to imagine them as Titans, "white-line titans", and slowly this song emerged.
Essentially we're raising funds to help pay this incredible film crew, top notch folks, as well as a pretty close-to-scale Peterbilt semi, made entirely of 2x4s, cardboard and studio lights (promise it's gonna look great). Oh, and black emperor scorpions, hoping I can get black emperor scorpions.
All in all this is my surrealist take on the classic country tradition of truckin' songs.
Anything ya'll can spare is much appreciated. Anyone so inclined to make a $100+ donation will get a special thanks in the credits of the video; $250+ will get a special thanks and free merch sent their way.
Many thanks,
C.W.K.
