Help Me Cover My Unexpected ER Bill After a Serious Finger Injury
On the day of my sister’s wedding, I was supposed to be celebrating with my family as one of her bridesmaids. Instead, I ended up having to go to the emergency room after a pair of scissors seriously cut my finger.
The injury damaged a nerve in my finger, and I am still experiencing numbness. What was supposed to be a special day turned into a scary and unexpected trip to the ER, and I’m now dealing with the physical and financial aftermath.
Unfortunately, my ER bill came out to $2,520.00, and I currently owe $1,377.24. I simply don't have that amount of money available to pay the remaining balance.
The experience at the hospital was also extremely difficult. I felt like I wasn't being taken seriously, and I was repeatedly questioned about whether I had been drinking simply because I had come from a wedding, even though I clearly explained that I had not been drinking. When I told the doctor that I could still feel the injury after being numbed, I was told, “Well then this is going to suck. Stay still.” When I said I was nauseous, I was told, “That sucks.”
I never expected to leave my sister’s wedding with a serious injury, a numb finger, and a medical bill I can't afford.
Any amount would mean so much to me . Donations will go toward paying the remaining ER bill and dealing with the medical care I may need for my finger I was told I might need surgery but I can't afford it. I'm 19 an im starting collage again I work 4 days out of the week 3 hours at a time I'm a dishwasher i.i don't make enough to pay for this an food and gas.
