We’re reaching out with something really special for our family—our 14-year-old son, Carter, has officially entered the U.S. Open of Skateboarding (Freestyle Rookie Division) happening June 14 in Venice Beach Ca
This isn’t just any competition—this is a huge opportunity for him to step onto a bigger stage and show what he’s been working so hard on.
Carter has been incredibly dedicated to skateboarding. He practices constantly and has been posting his progress every single day on Instagram as @theflatgroundkid. What started as a passion has turned into something he truly wants to pursue—and now he has a chance to prove himself.
We live in Lacey, so making the trip down to California is a big undertaking for our family of five. Between gas, hotel, food, and travel expenses, the costs add up quickly—especially right now.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 to help cover:
• Travel (gas for the trip down and back)
• Hotel accommodations
• Food for the family
• Competition-related expenses
More than anything, we want to make this trip memorable, stress-free, and focused on Carter’s moment—not worrying about how we’re going to make it all work financially.
