Join in to uplift a family in Gaza, through connection and compassion.
This is an open circle for supporting our dear friends, the Al-Ashqar family. Each and every family in Gaza has endured catastrophic losses, and every family is precious and deserving of our care. This family is no different.
This circle allows us to give ongoing, lifesaving, and sustainable care to a family that has endured the unimaginable and yet remains resilient, loving, and hopeful. We know that the needs in Gaza are overwhelming and feel unending, yet we have a beautiful opportunity to uplift a family and see them heal, grow, and eventually thrive.
We ask each member to make a commitment to supporting and enriching this family for a minimum of 6 months and you can contribute anything comfortable for you. As the needs may change or members may leave, we may open the circle again in the future.
The goal is to support this family with their daily needs until they can become self sufficient, however we know this is a long road ahead for every family in Gaza.

OUR STORY
Hi, my name is Ahmad Al-Ashqar, a 23 year old in Gaza, and I provide for my family of seven.
I am a student of Pharmacology at University of Palestine, and have completed my studies, and am currently completing my internship training.
My family is from Northern Gaza, near Jabalya, an area called, Tal-Alzatar.
My father was a successful businessman and we had a beautiful fulfilling life.
Now, we have no income, my father struggles with health issues, we have lost our home, my school, the pharmacy I worked in, and many friends and loved ones.
But even with all of these losses, we remain hopeful and love life and humanity.
We hope that you will learn about us and become part of our extended family from around the world.
OUR FAMILY
Our family consists of 7 members, including my mom and dad, brother and sisters.
Jehan
My mom is the light of my life and best friend.
We have a very tender relationship and she is the one who holds us all together through every sorrow.
Iyad
My dad is the strongest person I know, having endured the unimaginable when he was held, imprisoned by the occupation for 2 years and two months.
He was subjected to constant abuse and torture and sustained serious spinal injuries that left him unable to walk properly.
Since then, his health has deteriorated significantly.
Complications led to stomach and bowel issues, requiring surgery and colostomy placement, and he will need surgery to repair his spine.

Creating a recurring donation commitment gives them a tiny amount of stability in the midst of so much uncertainty.
This allows them to have an idea of their support through donations, and allows them to be sure their basic necessities are met.
