On Friday February 27th, 2026, Serina Harris, her husband, and their three children experienced something no family should ever have to endure, a devastating house fire that destroyed their home.

In a matter of moments, everything they worked so hard for was gone. While we are incredibly grateful that the entire family made it out safely, they lost nearly all their belongings — clothing, furniture, cherished keepsakes, and the place they called home.

This loss is especially heartbreaking as their daughter is a senior this year. What should be a season filled with celebrations, senior photos, prom, graduation, and all the milestones that come with her final year of high school — is now mixed with uncertainty and stress as the family begins the overwhelming process of starting over. Their home must be torn down to the studs on the inside, a rebuild that will take six to eight months to complete.

Anyone who knows Serina knows her heart. She is loving, hardworking, and the first to show up when someone else is in need. She gives generously of her time, her energy, and her compassion. She is active in her church and faithfully serves her community without ever asking for anything in return. She is the kind of person who quietly carries others through their storms.

Now, it’s our turn to carry her.

We are raising funds to help the Harris family with:

  • Immediate housing and living expenses
  • Clothing and school essentials for the children
  • Replacing furniture and household necessities
  • Senior year expenses for their daughter
  • Long-term rebuilding costs not covered by insurance

No amount is too small, and every act of kindness means more than words can express. If you are unable to give, please consider sharing this page and lifting the Harris family up in prayer.

Let’s surround them with the love, faith, and strength they have so freely given to so many.

Thank you for standing with the Harris family during this incredibly difficult time.

Good afternoon everyone!! I just wanted to share an update because I'm sure you've been wondering what is going on.

After fighting with the insurance company over the past few months about additional demolition of our home, they have finally agreed to do so. Additional demolition is removing the drywall wall in our master bedroom, bathroom, closet, laundry room and garage. I know it's crazy how long this process is taking considering the fire happened in February.

The family is doing fine. We have our good days and bad, but more good than anything. Yes, we want to be back home, but grateful we still have each other. Friday Elan leaves for college, so if course I'm emotional over her move but excited too. Thank you all again for your love, support, and prayers.

Once again thank you all for showing your love and support for us during this difficult time in our lives. I just want to give a quick update.

Demolition has started on the house and has stopped. Our mitigator is waiting on approval to demo other sections of the home. Insurance is dragging their feet and we have been waiting nearly 2 months. Prayerfully the insurance adjuster will agree that further demolition is required because even after cleaning we can still smell the smoke.

Mentally we're doing better we have been attending family counseling sessions, which is helping with our grief. Of course we still have our hard days from time to time. Not because of the loss of "things", but how we lost those things. Loving on a family member in need and losing trust and a relationship with that person.

Elan graduates next week and we're so excited! So yes definitely some positive energy here in the Harris household. She will be attending the University of Houston in the fall 🍁

Love you all and may the Lord bless you and keep you!
