My mother, Dana Leigh Barber, 46, was found deceased at her Alachua residence early Friday morning (03.11.22). Her cause of death is unknown, we're awaiting the results of an autopsy and a full investigation. As many of you know, my grandfather (my mother's father) is the man that I call "Dad." He raised me and his health has been failing for awhile. He was already in the hospital when he received the news of his youngest daughter's passing, and suffered a cardiac event, causing him to be transferred to a cardiac floor at NFRMC for close observation. He is in a severe state of shock and can barely formulate a sentence. He is her only living parent, as my grandmother passed away in 2016. Due to his progressing illnesses, he is unable to continue running his business and does not have 10k lying around, which is the standard cost for a funeral. I do not either.
