Many of you already know Shu and Lina Michaud. They are active members of the community; helping out, raising money and giving back for as long as I can remember.
Both Shu and Lina have been involved in many activities raising money for local charities, as well as community members who might be in need. One of their bigger undertakings would be the Greater Augusta Area Back to School Program, which they founded, making sure the children in the greater Augusta area have what they need for school. I could go on forever listing everything they have done to help others, but I think most of you already know or have been on the receiving end of their love and generosity.
Today, I am reaching out, on their son's behalf.
Their son, Anthony Le, needs our help.
Anthony was diagnosed with Evan’s Syndrome, a rare blood disorder, where the body’s immune system produces antibodies that mistakenly destroy red blood cells, platelets and sometimes certain white blood cell known as neutrophils, his senior year in high school. Up until that time, he was an active, healthy young man. Anthony underwent, chemotherapy at the Alfond Cancer Center for his condition, however, this Evan’s Syndrome is incurable.
Anthony has worked in the Technology/Sales field with his last position being with Verizon as the Store Manager in Saco. He loved his job and successfully opened the new store building an awesome customer base and team of associates.
In 2019 Anthony struggled with the recurrence of health problems and underwent surgery that resulted in the removal of 3 of his lymph nodes and extensive testing. He, then received the additional diagnosis of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, which has been severe, resistant to treatment and debilitating. He has been out of work, since March of 2020.
Unfortunately, this illness has been life changing. He has had to move back home with family, for he has been out of work for some time, due to the debilitating pain, chronic fatigue and unpredictable flare-ups caused by Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. His out-of-pocket medical expenses have accumulated and become unmanageable, nearing $15,000.00 + dollars, plus living expenses.
His hope is to return to work and continue, on his journey through life, however, these health problems have made that, currently, next to impossible. We, pray that his team of Medical Specialists, will find a regimen of medicines, that will ease his pain and suffering and potentially allow him to lead a much fuller life.
I know that life is expensive right now, but any amount you could donate would be a tremendous help!
Your donation will help to alleviate some of the stress that comes with the debt that Anthony has accumulated and show Anthony, Shu, Lina and their family that we love them!
