Hello, I really hate to ask for help, but I’m in a desperate situation. My mom and I are facing eviction, and our rent is $1,300 due by September 2nd.
I just turned 17, and my mom has been working 15-hour days nonstop ever since she lost her main job last year. She’s been hospitalized 4 times in the past 3 months because of the strain and stress and I honestly don’t know how much longer her body can handle it. She’s a veteran, but despite going to the VA multiple times, she still hasn’t been approved for benefits.
We don’t have any family to lean on, and I’ve been applying for jobs myself, but I can’t land something in time to cover rent before the deadline. My biggest fear is losing the only home we have while also watching my mom work herself into the ground just to keep us afloat.
I wanted so badly to take some of the weight off her shoulders and surprise her by saying the rent was covered so she could finally rest, even just for a little while. If anyone can help us get through this month, it would mean the world to me. I can also design logos or create commission art in return.
