UPDATE: Today Junie went to her appointment and there is now fluid on her heart and the cause is unknown. FIP and Toxoplasmosis are possibilities but still not completely sure. She was given fluids at the vet and sent home with antibiotics for the Toxoplasmosis. If her symptoms worsen over the weekend she will have to be taken back to the vet Monday. Due to the fluid that is on her heart she is stable right now but if she gets worse she will have to see a cardiologist to drain the fluids and if that doesn’t work she could possibly need to be euthanized but I will do everything in my power to not let that happen.
This is Junie (or junebug) she is my almost 2 year old cat that has happened to fall into some scary health problems over the last day or so. Yesterday she slept all day and didn’t get up to eat/drink or even use the bathroom. We took her to an emergency veterinary clinic last night to find out she has a gallbladder halo and a small amount of fluid in her belly that the vet said are quite concerning. Her bloodwork and EKG are normal but the cause of her symptoms are unclear. The findings from her ultrasound are usually associated with serious conditions that are unclear due to me not being able to keep her there overnight due to low funds. I was approved for care credit which racked me up a $600 vet visit. Junie is truly one of a kind. She is sweet, loving and loves her siblings so much. Last year when I lost Gus I was so lost without him and Junie brought me out of that very dark place. Though she did not replace Gus, she definitely filled the hole of him being gone. There is no worse feeling than my pet being sick and I myself feeling like there is nothing I can do due to the hardships of insufficient funds. Any donations will help and I thank you all for reading.
