We are a family of 6 soon to be 7. We experienced an electrical fire in 2024 while waiting on inspections to be done our boiler (heating) system for home went out as well. which then through inspections in the beginning of 2025 we were told we had lead in our home and to get our older 3 kids blood lead levels tested, so we did and 2 out of the 3 came back fine, and our 3rd came back really elevated and was told to repeat the test so we did and it came back higher. We were told by his doctor and the state health department to vacate our home and that we couldn't move back in till repairs were done. We had further lead testing done in our home and found it on our walls, windows, in our pipes, in our bath tub. So we not only had to get the electrical repaired, now we are told we had to replace our windows, pipes, boiler system, bathtub and had to get our walls scraped and repainted. We had to go with a HVAC system as the boiler system and pipes through out the house had failed, pipes we cracked and were beyond repairs. While having the repairs done more problems have been discovered. We have had to hire out repairs that we weren't allowed to do, which has costed more, so far we have had our windows replaced, new hvac system, electrical repairs have begun and new pipes will shortly be put in. We have completely run out of money and used any assistance we could, we have also used what equity we could in our home to help with repairs. We are sitting around 85k in repairs so far. We still need people to come in and get rid of the lead in our home so we can hopefully move back in before our baby arrives. Our kids deserve to have their home back. Any help is greatly appreciated. We aren't ones to ask for help but im trying to get our home back. Any funds will be go to repairs.
