Dear friends and fellow animal lovers,
We are Kathleen and Mitchell, and we have a heartfelt appeal to share with you about our cherished little Chanel Lee, affectionately known as Nellie. Our journey with Nellie began with tears of joy and an instant connection the moment she was placed in my arms at the shelter. Bringing her into our family, we envisioned nothing but love and companionship with her and our two-year-old chihuahua, Kix.
However, our joy quickly turned to concern as we discovered Nellie was battling CDD, canine distemper disease, shortly after we brought her home. With strong antibiotics and medication, we held hope as she showed signs of improvement. But then came the devastating downturn—on December 3rd, Nellie stopped eating and drinking, prompting us to rush her to the emergency vet hospital.
Our little girl was in desperate need of hospitalization to fight this illness, but the financial burden has been overwhelming. We've stretched our resources to their limits, maxing out a credit line and nearly a second.
