My name is Rocky Bucano, I am Executive Director of The Universal Hip Hop Museum which will break ground on a 55,000 SF building in the borough where Hip Hop was born in December 2019. The museum is dedicated to the preservation and celebration of Hip Hop history. As an architect of Hip Hop, it is very important to me that everyone who contributed to Hip Hop's global evolution be able to tell their own story, so that the history is properly documented and preserved. When it comes to telling the history of African Americans and Latinos all too often the stories are not told correctly because the stories are written by other people who did not live the experience or are not part of the culture. We are blessed to have a museum that will make sure that the narrative of Hip Hop history is properly told.
