I hesitate doing this as I know there are so many in a similar spot, however my options are dwindling. Our family tale started a few years back when I was forced to make a hard choice and resign from a company i founded due to things going on that i suspected were wrong, which led to a lengthy mediation and eventually an agreement. . Since then I have been through a rough divorce, but came out with my kids and my sanity - little more.
As we were getting our lives back on track, hurricane Helene hit in fall of 24. we haven't yet fully recovered and are facing some financial struggles that I've fended off on my own until now - its just not sustainable currently. Every bit of savings and insurance and money earned has gone nito the house repairs/restoration or replacing the girls' core belongings. We literally lost 99% of possessions during that storm, happy to make it to the next day with our health.
I've sold off anything of value that didn't wash out of the house in Sept of 2024, so there is nothing of significant value to sell in order for me to gain ground financially. My current income will rise eventually, but is currently resulting in negative cash flow of more than 4k per month.
This is my daughter's senior year, I was hoping to be able to pay her high school tuition and cover college visits etc. but its looking grim right now.
I would really appreciate a break, if you have it in your heart to want to help me be a better parent, and a financially supportive parent I would welcome your support. Thank you!!
