Hello my name is Eddie Cabrera and my
Husbands little siblings 8 and 5 are in Iowa with a family member I’m making this so he can get help to get them home before they go in the system this is his story hear him out thank you in advance Thomas cabrera telling his side and story For years, I stayed silent about the pain I carried.
I kept my feelings to myself because, despite everything I had experienced, I never wanted to hurt anyone’s feelings. I convinced myself that staying quiet was the right thing to do. I buried the hurt, the confusion, and the abandonment because I hoped that one day things would be different. But they are not, in fact the have only gotten worst…
But today, I can no longer stay silent.
The man many of you know as my dad is not my biological father. The reason that matters is because he had every opportunity to walk away from me, yet he never did. He chose to love me, support me, guide me, and stand by my side as his own son when he had absolutely no obligation to do so.
I was abandoned during some of the most important years of my life, he was the one who stayed.
When I was 15 years old, I went nearly two years without a phone call, a text message, a check-in, or any meaningful support from my mother. Those years left deep emotional wounds that I still carry today. The abandonment, confusion, and heartbreak I experienced as a teenager are things I am still learning to cope with as an adult.
Through all of that, my dad never left me.
He was there when I needed a parent. He was there when I needed guidance. That is why it has been so painful to watch him be portrayed as someone he is not.
The situation my mother has created this time around has changed not only my life forever but most importantly my dad’s. Watching my dad face wrongful and undeserving consequences / accusations that may impact him, our family, and his future for years to come has forced me to find my voice. The man who stood by me when others walked away is now in a position that he may never fully recover from, and that reality is heartbreaking.
The wrongful accusations and selfish acts of my mother have left me questioning so much of what I believed. False narratives have been presented that do not reflect the reality, and it has been incredibly difficult to watch those narratives be accepted by so many people, and worst of all people I once called family.
This pattern has got to stop at some point, the constant neglect, the constant miscommunication, the non stop leaving and coming back home when you are suddenly ready, or when you’ve had enough of the high. you have children at home waiting for your return day by day. I speak from experience, I waited 2 years and have never recovered. I feel this hurt and forever will. I once loved you so dearly. I still do and always will but you crossed a line this time. You put the one person I knew I could always count on away for very along time. You have forced my dad to abandon me the same way you have abandoned me before, and for that I can never forgive you. Always loved but never forgiven. That’s the most painful part…
The hardest part is realizing that the relationship I once hoped to rebuild may never be the same. The trust that was broken through years of abandonment, neglect, and the pain my dad is experiencing today has changed the way I see things forever.
I am speaking out because I have spent years protecting everyone else’s feelings while ignoring my own, And I am also speaking out because the man who chose to be my father when he didn’t have to deserves to have someone stand beside him the way he always stood beside me and my siblings Danger and Rebel
Any amount big or small will help him get them home thank you again please also help with Shering
