My name is Michaella Donisa, and I am an international student.
This past May, I graduated magna cum laude from Oakwood University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and I was blessed to be accepted into the Master of Science in Medical Science program at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, which is a crucial bridge toward my dream of becoming a physician. Following this calling, I moved from Alabama to California to begin my graduate studies.
However, just one month into the program, my student loan was unexpectedly canceled. While this sudden trial has been heavy to carry, I lean heavily on my faith and trust that God's plans are greater than my own. I believe He is simply redirecting my path. Because of this, I am returning to Oakwood University to earn my BSN in nursing. My long-term dream of attending medical school remains unchanged, and once I am established in my nursing career and have secured the necessary funds, I plan to reapply.
Because this transition happened so quickly, the financial strain of moving across the country twice in a short span has been overwhelming for my family and me. While my tuition at Oakwood is covered, I am humbly asking for any support toward my moving expenses, such as flight tickets and car shipping, and daily living costs.
