Three years ago, I became the guardian of a wonderful boy reeling from the aftermath of abuse, neglect and drug use. We have worked the last three years to get him healthy and ensure he is happy. Now we would like to become official. While I am his mom in every way that matters, I would like to give him my last name as well.
