Hello, Kelsea here, with an update from Basand. I leave you with her powerful words:
I plead with you, for the sake of Allah, and I ask you from the bottom of my heart to help me. I am a mother of two little girls, Mila and Ayla, living through days whose hardship only Allah truly knows. I no longer have enough food or drink, and hunger and fear have become part of our daily life.
Every day I look at my daughters and feel my heart breaking because I cannot provide them with what they need. When they ask for food and I have nothing to give them, I feel an indescribable helplessness. There is no pain greater for a mother than seeing her children in need while she is unable to help them.
I am also suffering from severe infections and constant pain that has exhausted my body. On top of all of this, I live every month with the fear of not being able to pay rent and keep a roof over our heads. I am carrying the burden of food, medicine, and rent all at once, and I no longer know how to face all of this alone.
Please help me, please do not leave me and my two daughters alone in this hardship. I swear I am not asking for help except after every door has closed in our faces. Any help, no matter how small, could mean a meal for two hungry children, medicine to ease my pain, or hope that keeps us from losing the shelter we live in.
Please do not forget Mila and Ayla. Help us if you can, and may Allah bless everyone who extends a helping hand, grant them provision from where they do not expect, and place their mercy toward us in their scale of good deeds. 💔🙏

Greetings beautiful souls,
So many of you have done so much too ensure that Basand and her sweet family have what they need in order to survive. Kelsea, with her eloquence and ability to pinpoint exactly what their situation means, has this update for us:
If you’re reading this, thank you. Thank you for staying connected despite every resource of empire being bent toward disconnecting you from Basand and her family.
Basand’s instagram account has been suspended again. She is in a constant fight to stay connected to her community. And when she is not connected to us, it devastates her family’s ability to sustain themselves. An instagram chat lost is less food for Mila and Ayla. And instagram knows it.
This is particularly insidious when we consider how much has been taken from their family — their home, their jobs, and Ahmad’s ability to work because of his devastating hand injury, to name only a few. Being connected to the people who have made up their minds to care about this them is essential. We are a lifeline.
The last three years have been hell. Please keep in contact with Basand, and give if you can. We are all we have. When we show up, even in ways that feel small when we look at the scale of the evils that face us, we build love and energy and goodness. We become what is right with the world, and can inspire others to do the same. One of the best ways you can help right now is tell a friend to give a few dollars. Connect someone else to this small but mighty community.
Thank you for your stout and generous heart. Tell Basand we love her for me, will you?

Beloved friends,
You have helped perform miracles for Basand and her family in the past. She is appealing to you to help keep those miracles going. So that her two young daughters can survive and thrive in the harshest conditions. Any amount you can do helps and sharing gets more people involved.
Even as many of us feel the tightening pressure of a failing economy, we must always have solidarity with our loved ones in Gaza. Below is Basand's appeal for her children:
I am Basand… a mother with a broken heart, watching my children cry from hunger with nothing in my hands to give them.
I swear to God, I don’t have a single piece of bread to feed them. Not even the smallest thing to ease their pain.
My children are trembling from hunger… they go to sleep with empty stomachs and wake up to the same suffering. Their weak voices asking for food are breaking me, and I feel completely helpless.
I am begging you from the depths of my heart… please don’t ignore us.
Any donation, no matter how small, could save my children’s lives and give them a chance to survive.
Please… help me feed my children. 😭😭💔🙏

Hello everyone, Kelsey here. Thank you for your help, especially during the transition to a new link. It is your stable support that has created solidarity here in this space for this beautiful family. When we take stock of our own capacity and dedicate consistently, or when we simply answer the cry for help, we provide Basand and her children with stability. They can plan their lives and not live chained to hunger or disaster.
I come to you with Basand’s plea for that consistency, to each in their capacity:
“To those who once extended a helping hand to me…
I return to you today carrying a heartbreak heavier than I can bear.
I am a mother… and all I have in this world are my two little daughters, Mila and Ayla.
When you helped us before, you didn’t just give money — you gave my girls a meal that stopped their tears, a night of sleep without hunger, and a single day without fear.
But today… hunger has returned, harsher than ever.
My children go to sleep placing their tiny hands on their empty stomachs and ask me, “Mama, will we eat tomorrow?”
And I have no answer… only my tears.
By God, I would not be writing these words if I had any other way.
There is nothing more painful for a mother than watching her children suffer while she can do nothing to help them.
If there is still room in your hearts once more… please do not deny Mila and Ayla a bite that will strengthen their small bodies.
Your previous donation saved us, and your help today could be the difference between hunger and survival.
I beg you, for the sake of God… do not leave us alone in this pain.
You are in our prayers every day, and my tears bear witness to a gratitude beyond words.”
Thank you, good people of the world. Thank you for all you do
