My name is Chelsie, and I’m a single mom working toward becoming Paramedic so I can build a stable future for myself and my daughter.
Over the past several months, life has been challenging financially, but I refused to give up on my education. I’ve applied for every resource I could find, searched for grants, donated platelets to make ends meet, looked for secondhand equipment, and recently accepted a temporary overnight job so I can continue paying my bills while staying enrolled in school.
As I prepare to begin clinicals, I’m facing one last obstacle: the required uniform, Physical Exam Fees, and medical equipment needed to continue in the program. These expenses have come at a time when my finances are already stretched thin.
I need help getting through this immediate clinical deadline, and then I have four months to raise the remaining tuition.
While I do have a small support system through my grandparents and other immediate family, I don’t have the financial resources to cover everything on my own before my deadlines.
I’m not asking for someone else to carry my dream. I’m asking for a little help getting across the finish line. I’m currently in EMT school, which is the first step toward my goal of becoming a paramedic. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward my school uniform, required equipment, and school-related expenses so I can continue my education without falling behind.
Choosing to ask for help was not easy. If you know me, you know I usually try to figure everything out myself. But I’ve learned that sometimes strength also means allowing others to be part of your journey.
